Christmas Trees
Our full range of Christmas trees will be available in our festive ‘Winter Wonderland’ setting from Saturday 26th November, both potted and cut trees.
The Nordman Fir
A firm favorite with one of the best needle retention characteristics of any Christmas tree. The short, dark green needles are soft and flattened on the branch, with a waxy cuticle that gives the tree its shiny appearance and helps prevent drying. With a fresh piney smell once in your home, its strong branches are perfect for holding large or heavy ornaments.
- Available either cut or pot grown
- Potted trees from 60cm to 175cm
- Cut trees from 100cm to 300cm
- Stands to support and to keep your cut tree hydrated
- Tip: Pick the right height for you but don’t forget the stand can add an extra 15 cm to the overall height.
The Frazer Fir
The Fraser Fir is a slim but dense, non-dropping Christmas tree with a distinctive orangey/citrus aroma. The leaves are dark green needle-like, arranged spirally on the branch and with a silvery/bluey, appearance on the underside of the fir

Christmas Tree Care
Keep your Tree outside till it’s required.
Take it out of it’s netting as soon as you get home to prevent mould and fungus from growing on damp branches. If you’re not setting it up straight away, place it in a bucket of water in the garden away from wind and direct sunlight.
Trim the Tree trunk (cut trees).
Before you place your tree it’s always best to give it some water to avoid it becoming dry and dehydrated. We recommend you cut about 2.5cm of the trunk so the base is fresh.
Live Potted Trees
It is recommended to keep your live tree outside when you get it home and to bring it indoors for a few hours a day to help it get acclimatised. Live trees may have a few insects living in them so give it a good shake and/or shower it with cold water (hose & rose) while it is outdoors. When you are ready to site it indoors, pay particular attention to position and watering (see below). A well cared for tree should last you many years.
The best place for your Tree?
Place your tree in a suitable location away from heat sources like fires or radiators to prevent it from drying out and losing its needles faster. Allow your tree to settle for 24 hours before decorating and for live trees, don’t smother them with decorations – leave some green showing to allow the tree to continue photosynthesis.
Water your Christmas Tree regularly!
It’s best to keep our tree watered to keep it looking fresh and full. A dehydrated tree can wilt and droop quickly. If your tree is pot grown, make sure you water the roots. If it’s kept outside, it might need more water to keep it from drying out depending on its location.
How to recycle your Christmas Tree?
Once the new year comes around it’s time to think how to recycle your tree. If your tree is cut, we provide a FREE facility, and encourage you to use it. The trees are ground up to form wood chip which we use around The Nursery. This is a FREE service, but we do request that you make a generous donation to Dorothy House Hospice Care, the charity that we raise funds for throughout the year.
Christmas Wreaths
We have been creating our own wreaths for quite a few years and put a lot of imagination and creativity into making something very special. So, whether its for your front door or to remember your nearest & dearest, we can produce a unique wreath for you.
